We also know that is not the same between definition and detail if we take an image at a short distance in a macro so that if we took a photo to a farther distance with a telephoto lens
Definition (sharpness) describes the amount of detail in a photograph, is one of the most important variables in capturing the texture of the object. The picture definition is given by different parameters, these can be modified in a post-process or may be taken into account when shooting.

The camera sensors in digital cameras replace film based on conventional cameras although their operation is quite different.
Camera sensors are mechanisms that are responsible for capturing the information of the light beam which is then processed and presented to generate the image.
